I can’t tell you how excited I am.
There’s only 7 more sleeps until Wonderwool. I’ve wanted to go since it began 10 years ago, but April has always been silly season. Not this year though, there’s no more shop, my youngest is old enough to look after his older siblings (true story) and I have a bonafide reason to go (I didn’t really need an excuse, but it certainly helps to have one).
So in the very wee hours of this coming Friday morning, my husband and I will be sailing over to Wales – yippee!
Wonderwool has been running since 2006, so this will be the 11th year. It’s held at the Royal Welsh Showgrounds in Builth Wells and promises to be a woolly extravaganza.
There are classes at the Woolschool, exhibitors and trade stands covering all aspects of felting, knitting, weaving, spinning and crochet along with textile art with raw materials, equipment, books and finished product. I’m told there may also be demonstrations and a selection of fibre animals on display including sheep, alpacas and angora rabbits. There’s also food, and judging by the list of caterers on the website, I’m going to have no problems being a vegetarian.
To whet your appetite here are a few photos of Wonderwool 2015 all courtesy of John Teale.
Doesn’t it look fun?
There’s still time if you fancy making the trip, but I promise to tell you all about it when I get back.
Have a lovely weekend.
